| Workshop on Rights of Girl Child held | | | KATHUA, Apr 10: A day long awareness camp-cum-workshop on Rights of Girl Child was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Women Society. The event was sponsored by J&K Centre/ State Social Welfare Board at Bharti Palace Nagri Parole, Kathua today. On the occasion, Khem Lata Wakhloo Chairperson J&K State Social Welfare Board was the Chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion, Khem Lata Wakhloo stressed on the need to educate the girl child especially in rural areas to vanish the gender inequality. She added that declining girls sex ratio is a matter of great concern.
Wakhloo said women have achieved success in different walks of life and it is the responsibility of every woman to play a significant role for their empowerment. |
