Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 10: Home minister P Chidambaram on Tuesday disappointed chief minister Omar Abdullah by evading direct question of the revocation of the Armed forces special powers Act from Jammu and Kashmir and said that he has suggested three amendments to the law which will discussed in the cabinet committee on security . Interestingly, Omar during the review meeting pressed for lifting of AFSPA and thinning out of troops from the state. He even named four districts wherefrom the law can be withdrawn. But the home minister disclosed his mind in state guest house later in the evening that his ministry has suggested amendments in the law. This implies that the home ministry too is not in favour of lifting the law completely. The home minister was equally on disagreement with the implementation of interlocutors' report. "The report will be discussed in the cabinet committee on security and thereafter it will be made public," PC said. However the chief minister Omar and his admirers were upbeat over the statement when Chidambaram complimented the state government for maintaining synergy amongst various security agencies in dealing with the militancy and law and order in the state. Immediately Chidambaram returned to New Delhi, Chief minister Omar followed him and also took the flight to his home in New Delhi.
