Cong advocates settlement of refugees' issue | | | Jammu: The state unit of Congress today strongly batted for granting Rs 1700 cr central package for refugees from Pakistan and Jammu migrants to bring them at par with Kashmiri migrants in terms of relief distribution. Union Home Minister P Chidambaram met various delegations at Guest House before leaving for Delhi this evening. Apart from the delegation of Congress leaders led by J&K PCC Chief Prof Saif-u-Din Soz , the Home minister also met the delegation of Sikh Coordination Committee led by JS Raina. Sources said the Congress delegation comprising ministers and senior leaders strongly batted for settling the issue of West Pakistan refugees and POK refugees by granting one time settlement and addressing their other demands. |
