JAMMU, Apr 10: -The movement launched by Kashmiri Hindus for passage of Shrines and Temples Bill for protection and management of Hindu shrines in Kashmir Valley has received a fillip with a majority section of Shadus owing allegiance to various Maths extending support to the demand. The Sadhu Samaj came in the fore front after a group of sants from the state claimed that the temples and shrines in the Valley have been constructed by Mahrajas and Rajas and the Pandits have no role in it. They claimed that over 400 temples and shrines in Kashmir Valley belong to Sadhus which was out rightly rejected by the Kashmiri Pandits. Meanwhile the nation -wide movement and protest demonstrations launched by Kashmiri Pandits especially those from Rainawari against the sale deed of Vital Bhairrao by an office bearer of religious organization which is managing the affairs of some temples and religious places in the state has shaken the organization as its office bearers are reportedly involved in the sale deed of temple land. Sources said the Kashmiri Pandits have decided to put the all documents of the sale deed made by the office bearer of the religious organization with an inhabitant of Pampore area before the media to expose the land mafia and those organizations who are engaged in illegal sale of Hindu religious places in Valley. Sources said the Kashmiri Pandits with the help of the Sadhu Samaj and other religious organizations of the state have decided to intensify the movement and not only press the Government for the passage of Religious and Shrines Bill but also declare the entire sale deed of Hindu Shrines made after 1989 October as null and void. Welcoming the stand of the Sadhu Samaj led by Mahant Ramehswar Dass a spokesman of Pt Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust which is spearheading the ongoing movement for the passage of the Shrines Bill said this has exposed those people who were spreading canards against the Kashmiri Pandits and trying to create a wedge between the Sadhu Samaj and Pandits. He said Kashmiri Pandits have always taken Sahdu Samaj in high esteem and they will continue to do so as Sadhus and saints are the important pillars of dharma and Kashmiri Pandits do realize this fact. The spokesman while expressing his dismay over the delay in passage of shrines and temples bill by the State Government said the delaying tactics adopted by coalition has hurt the sentiments of the community. In case Government is still sincere towards the protection of Hindu Shrines and religious places in Valley it should issue an ordinance till the Bill is passed. However sources said that a group of politicians linked to the management of some shrines in the state belonging to both NC and Congress are creating hurdles in the passage of the Bill. This was admitted by some legislators of the two parties to a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits recently who sought their support for the passage of the Bill.
