Big 88-run win for KCCC in Rajiv Cricket

JAMMU, Apr 11: Kishen Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) drubbed Adarsh Cricket Club Akhnoor and advanced in the next round of the ongoing 3rd Rajiv Gandhi Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, organized by Young Star Cricket Club at MA Stadium, here. Winning the toss and batting first, KCCC posted a formidable score of 174 runs in the allotted 20 overs, losing five wickets in the process. Pardeep Bali top scored with power-packed 59 runs off 40 balls including nine boundaries, while Shubam Khajuria contributed well-made 47 runs with the help of three fours and one six. Bandeep Singh and Raman Dutta chipped in 28 and 22 runs respectively. For ACC Akhnoor, Mittu, Sunny and Deepak claimed one wicket apiece. In reply, ACC Akhnoor, bundled out for a meagre total of 86 runs in 18.1 overs. Chander remained top scorer with 27 runs, which he scored in 20 balls with the help of four boundaries, while Deepak and Rohit were other two batsmen to cross double figure mark and contributed 12 and 10 runs to the total respectively.
Right-arm leg-spinner Manik Gupta was the wrecker-in-chief for KCCC, who scalped four important wickets by conceding 24 runs in his quota of four overs, while Shubam Khajuria, Raman Dutta, Dalbir Singh, Bandeep Singh and Ashok claimed one wicket each. Pardeep Bali of KCCC was adjudged man of the match for his quick-fire knock of 59 runs. Meanwhile, the match of morning session between Challenger Cricket Club and Kabir Cricket Club scheduled for the day could not be played due to wet weather conditions.
The match was officiated by Rajinder Singh and Vijay as umpires and Sohail acted as the scorer, while the tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club under the supervision of Chaman Lal, former Corporator, Ankush Abrol, Rajesh Dhar, Vikram Singh and Shashi Pal, organizing secretary. Fixture: Challenger Cricket Club shall face Kabir Cricket Club in the match, while Kashmir Cricket Club shall take on Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor tomorrow.
