GBSWA allges mismanagement in Gujjar Board | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu Apr 11: Gujjar Bakarwal Students Welfare Association (GBSWA) today alleged mismanagement of funds and embezzlement by the authorities of Gujjar Bakarwal State Advisory Board and demanded probe in the same. In a press conference held here today Talib Hussain, State President GBSWA condemned the worsening condition of Gujjar Hostels and lamented over false hopes of a Gujjar Hostel for the PG. students in Jammu University. He held Naz responsible for ill functioning of all the Gujjar Hostels and also other misappropriations and justifying his remarks of misappropriations by saying that only a person of Headmaster/Master grade can be appointed as a warden but the warden of Gujjar Hostel Reasi doesn't fulfill, the requirements to be appointed as a Warden as he was merely an RET teacher who happened to be a close relative of Bashir Ahmed Naz, the VC of Board (which is termed to be his additional qualifications). Citing another example of mismanagement, he said one Anayat-ur-Rehman Warden of Baramula Gujjar Hostel got Rs 75,000 sanctioned for white washing of the building but he forced the students to do at midnight. He alleged another Shakeel Ahmed warden of Gujjar Hostel Udhampur has taken away 5 computers of the hostel to some unknown places for unknown reasons. An inquiry was launched by Basir Khan, the then DC Udhampur in this regard, but nothing happened. He also leveled charges against Mushtaq Baji, Warden Gujjar Hostel Jammu. GBSWA, further reported that the Gujjar hostels are for the development of Gujjars and Bakerwals, then why some Non-Gujjar wardens are being appointed and those too not from native districts. Talib Hussain warned all the concerned authorities of worse consequences if the things are not mended.
