HC directive in petition seeking rotation of reserved wards of JMC | | | early times report JAMMU, Apr 11: Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar of high court today asked advocate general to take notice of the petition seeking rotation of reserved wards of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC). The court directive came in a petition filed by Dimpy Kohli and others, seeking directions to respondents to strictly enforce provisions of section 10 A of J&K Municipal Corporation Act 2000 by restoring to rotation of different wards of JMC in the ensuing corporation elections. A direction was also sought to the respondents to accord consideration to the representations filed by the petitioners on March 6, 2012, in the shape of legal notice in the light of section 10-A of J&K Municipal Corporation Act 2000 before notifying the JMC election process. Justice Attar, after hearing the two sides, asked the advocate general, who was present in the court, to take notice of the petition. He disposed of the petition with a direction to respondents to the consider the legal notice/ representation of petitioners strictly in accordance with the law of land and passed appropriate orders preferably within three weeks from the date copy of this order was served.
