DC forwards case to crime branch | Issuance of fraud RBA certificate | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Apr 11: The deputy commissioner Anantnag has forwarded the case of issuance of fraud backward area certificate to a local in Kokernag area of south Kashmir Anantnag district to crime branch of police for investigation. The case was forwarded to crime branch after the enquiry team formed by the deputy commissioner failed to ascertain which of the two accused officials has actually issued the certificate. Official sources said that the deputy commissioner Anantnag, Syed Kifayat Hussain Rizvi on the basis of a complaint about issuance of a fraud RBA certificate by Tehsildar Kokernag formed a team headed by Assistant commissioner (Revenue) to probe the matter. " Since the enquiry team failed to solve the case as both the in-charge Tehsildar and the former (Retired now) denied having issued the certificate forcing the DC to forward the case to crime branch," sources said. They said that since the certificate has been issued during former Tehsildar's period needle of suspicion swung to him also. Sources further said that crime branch has initiated the enquiry into the case and are mulling to send the certificate to forensic laboratory to ascertain who has actually signed the certificate. Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Syed Kifayat Hussain Rizvi said, " Since both the officials denied having issued the fraud RBA I was left with no option but to forward the case to crime branch for further investigations. Now the case is being probed by the crime branch and everything will come out once they finish the probe,". He said that the complaint about the Tehsildar, having forged the order with to his posting as Tehsildar Kokernag also proved baseless during the investigations. When contacted Tehsildar, Kokernag, Muzaffar Ahmad Malik, denied his involvement in the issuance of the certificate. "The certificate has been issued before my posting as Tehsildar of the area. I am ready to cooperate with any investigating agency," Malik said. He however said that some people for their personal interests hatched a conspiracy against him after he stopped the construction of a petrol pump they were illegally establishing. "A mafia which had managed the permission of a petrol pump on the fertile agriculture land with the help of former Tehsildar hatched conspiracy against me after I exposed them and stopped the construction of the petrol pump they were setting up illegally," he added. Another complaint lodged by the same people against him before DC Anantnag also proved to be false. |
