| MLA Gupta hails probe into Fai's activities in JK | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 11: MLA Jammu West Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has hailed the formation of Special Investigating Team (SIT) headed by an IPS officer to expose Ghulam Nabi Fai's agents active in the State of Jammu & Kashmir.
In a statement, Prof Gupta said that this action was long over due.
He hoped that the formation of SIT will work on the over ground apparatus and expose it because this is confusing the issue and weakening the cause of India. This apparatus is responsible for giving fillip in the militancy.
Prof Gupta was astonished with the behaviour of the State Government as it failed to give any response when the issue was raised by him in the State Assembly.
He said, " I raised the issue of Fai's activities on the Floor of the House and insisted for the response of the Government, but nothing came out. But after few days an officer of the Police of the rank of DGP announced the formation of SIT to enquire into the activities of Fai and his colleagues. This amply shows how much respect the Government has for democratic values." |
