EJAC to go on statewide stir on April 17 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Apr 11: J&K Govt. Employees Joint Action Committee major constituent of Joint Consultative Committee of J&K Govt Employees alleging state government for backing out from its agreement held on 15th September 2011 between the two sides has decided to go on statewide stir on April 17. In a joint press conference, Ram Kumar Sharma, State President and Spokes man of the JCC Rafiq Ahmed Khanyari (Gen. Secretary) Balwan Singh Jamwal (Vice President) Babu Hussain Malik (Joint Secretary) besides other members Parshotam Sharma, Abdul Aziz Gazii, Bharat Bushan, Abdul Rashid and others expressed serious concerned over the breach of assurances, promises made by the Government and written agreement arrived on February 2009, May 2010 and September 2011 and forcing the employees to go on strike on 17th April. "The State Govt. has done nothing to formulate the policy for regularization of casual, seasonal and daily rated workers, who are working over decade, they said. Speakers reiterated their demands including enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60 years and for removal of anomalies in different cadre, particularly disparity of clerical cadre and pay scale 6500-10500. The leaders of EJAC consultants of JCC of J&K Govt Employees, informed that they have decided to call a statewide strike on 17th April 2012 during which rallies will be held at respective Tehsil, Block and District headquarters. Speakers also mentioned that that in Jammu city the employees will assemble at exhibition ground in front of Press Club Jammu whereas at Srinagar the employees will assemble Exhibition Ground at 11:00 AM. |
