| Court seizes 3 "unauthorised" cranes | | |

JAMMU, Apr 11: Special mobile magistrate (traffic) Naushad Ahmed today seized three cranes under section 207 of RPC and ordered to keep them at Gandhi Nagar police station.
During checking, he observed that the three cranes hired by traffic police were actually pick-up delivery vans which had been altered into cranes without any permission of transport authority.
This itself was an offence under motor vehicle act and such altered vehicles could not be used for traffic regulation, he said.
The court directed the operators of these cranes and traffic authorities to file affidavits and put the cranes for their judicious use so that genuine cars parked at right places might not be hooked up as innocent persons should not be harassed. |
