| JKECTEU hold protest, alleges discrimination | | | JAMMU JAN 26 To express its resentment against the discriminatory attitude of the State Government towards the burning problem of the employees, Jammu and Kashmir Excise Commercial Taxes Employees Union Class IV (JKECTEU) held a protest demonstration in front of Excise and Taxation Complex on the 58th Republic Day here today. State President of the Association Adil Rashid Khan and veteran trade union leaders of Employees Joint Action Committee Girdhari Lal Chanda and SS Bakshi, while addressing the agitating employees, have stressed upon the government to stop discriminatory attitude with the aggrieved employees and save the future of 500 families, who are depending upon them. It was also revealed that the members of JAC would meet the Chief Minister for early settlement of their rights and genuine demands. The employees who were appointed some eight years back are agitating for declaring them permanent as their appointment was made against the available vacant posts and orders were issued by the competent authorities, as was the case with other 40,000 employees appointed on same analogy, in different departments. The employees allege that while their counterparts in other departments have been regularized and provided all service benefits but those working in Excise have neither been confirmed not provided the necessary benefits. Others who addressed on the occasion included Surinder Sharma, senior Vice President, Anjam Wazir vice President, Shamim Mintoo Joint Secretary, Riaz Ahmed Secretary, Ajay Kesri Chief Organizer, Sudesh Sharma, Narinder Dogra Organizers, Charanjeet, Sanjay, Ravinder and Abdul Rehman.
