| Malikote people protests non availability of electricity | | | Early Times Report
REASI, Apr 13: Residents of village Malikote, tehsil Mahore, district Reasi today staged massive demonstration in protest against non availability of electricity to their area having population of more than 6000 souls even after 63years of independence.
Nearly 300 to 450 families of this remote belt totally sans power supply.
Even after 63years of independence, these hapless and neglected villagers are waiting for power supply.
The area falls in the constituency of National Confernce MLA and Higher Education Minister Abdul Ghani Malik.
The agitated Malikote people shouted slogans against Omar Abdullah government, local MLA, SDM Mahore and DC REASI. The protesters alleged that DC, SDM, MLA and SSP have never visited this remote village. They demanded power supply within a week's time otherwise an agitation would be launched. |
