Rajouri twinkles on its 'independence day'

Rajouri, Apr 14: The border district Rajouri is celebrating the day of independence from intruders and several functions to mark the special Rajouri day which is celebrated every year on the festival of Baisakhi which dates on 13th of April.
To mark this grand occassion for Rajouri a programme was organised by army to pay tribute to the brave men of soil and soldiers who sacrificed their lives in fight against rebellions.
As a part of its years long tradition civil administration of Rajouri yesterday night organised a colourfull patriotic programme which was held in Dak bungalow.
In this programme named RAJOURI MUSICAL EVENING several senior army civil and police officia s including Dy. Commissioner Saugat Biswas, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range Rajesh Kumar Yadav,SP Mubassar Latiffi, Dy. GOC 25 Inf. Div JK Tiwari and political personalties including MoS Shabir Ahmed Khan took part while a large number of prominent citizens also attended it.
During this musical cultural programme various artists from district and state level presented patriotic and brotherhood songs while some artists presented skits and dramas based on the theme unity and religious brotherhood.
On a similar fashion like a programme organised yesterday by army, army today organised another programme on the main 'Shaheedi Sathal' located in the Gujjar Mandi chowk. Army Northern Core Commander, Lt. Gen. AS Nandal took special part in the programme while DC Rajouri Saugat Biswas, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range Rajesh Kumar Yadav, GOC 25 Infantary Div. Maj Gen KH Singh, Dy. GOC JK Tiwari among several senior officials shared chairs with him. On this occassion officials and prominent personalties of the area paid tributes to bravemen while school students presented patriotic cultural items.
A photo exhibition was also held inside ALG Ground in which photos regarding hardships of army, achievements by army, local culture and photos by free lances photographer Sardar Maharajkar Singh Isher were presented. Army also awarded participants of Rajouri day with the hands of Northern Core Commander AS Nandal.
Norther Core Commander Lt. Gen AS Nandal also hold interaction with locals and applauded their assistance to army.
This colourfull event of Rajouri day concluded with a cycle rally named peace march which was organised with aim to spread the message of peace and harmony.
