HSS hails HC order over rotation of wards | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 14 : President Dimpy Kohli and gen. secretary G.I Singh of Hindustan Shiv Sena have hailed order passed by Jammu and Kashmir High Court about the strict enforcement of Sec 10A of Municipal Corporation Act 2000 .Sec 10A of municipal act pertains to rotation of reserved wards. Wards which were reserved for women , SC/ST in last ULBs election will be rotated. Hindustan Shiv Sena filed a writ petition in this regard in Jammu & Kashmir High Court and the order was passed by the High Court for strictly enforcing the Sec 10A of Jammu Municipal corporation in the upcoming Municipal Corporation and ULB elections. Directions have been issued to Chief Electoral Officer , DC Jammu, Commissioner secteary. Housing and urban development and to municipal commissioner Jammu. He further said Hindustan Shiv Sena right from the beginning opposed the holding of municipal and other ULB elections without removing of irregularities and discrepancies in voter lists. We also appealed to the State govt. about the delimitation of wards and inclusion of such areas like Sunjwan, Bhitindi and some sectors of Sainik Colony. If the areas of Sidhra can be included in the municipality why not these areas. Sidhra has been included because large number of bureaucrats and other influential people are residing there. He further said that Hindustan Shiv Sena is not against holding of Municipal and ULB elections. We want that elections should be held as early as possible. This will pave the way for new developments and funds worth crores of rupees will be released on completion of municipal elections, which are being held by the Central govt. Once again we appeal to the State govt. and particularly to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to accelerate the process and readdressing of anomalies existing in the present electoral rolls and the delimitation of wards. |
