'Kashmir chaos' due to Nehru's reluctance to accept Ambedkar's advice: Bhim | | | Early Times Report Jammu Apr 14 : While paying heavy tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Chairman of Drafting Committee of the Constitution of India on his 121st Birth Anniversary this morning, Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman, National Panthers Party and Member, National Integration Council regretted that it were Shri Jawaharlal Nehru, the Prime Minister of India who had not accepted the proposal of Dr. Ambedkar to draft the temporary provision of Article 370 which Dr. Ambedkar has felt would create conflict in the State-Centre relations. "It were Congress leadership which had forged a common front with some other political groups against Maharaja Hari Singh and the Congress intended to dilute the powers of the Maharaja by inserting undesirable and obnoxious provisions in Article 370. Had the Congress accepted the advice of Dr. Ambedkar, there would have been no 'Kashmir Issue' today nor India would have witnessed three bloody wars with Pakistan on this issue." Prof. Bhim Singh told the Panthers Party activists who met here to pay tributes to the creator of the greatest constitution of India. The Panthers Party in a resolution urged the political parties to amend Article 370 so as to empower Parliament to legislate in respect of all Central subjects to strengthen the bonds of National Integration, secularism and oneness which was the agenda of Dr. Ambedkar also. |
