| Tiny toys dressed in tri-color stole the show | | RR organizes impressive function at Children’s Academy Palma | | Rajouri Jan 26 As a part of its strategy to win the hearts and minds of the people and bring the out from the trauma of militancy, 48 Rashtriya Rifles, Garhwal Rifles, organized a well attended and impressive function under the guidance of HQ 13 sector RR, at Children’s Academy Palma in Rajouri district on the eve of 58th Republic Day. Major Gen A C Soneja, GOC Counter Insurgency Forces (Romeo), unfurled the National Flag amidst chanting of ‘Jan-Gan-Man’. The event was witnessed by a large number of army officials, civil dignitaries and the local populace, besides the school children. Addressing the gathering the GOC highlighted the objectives of undertaking such events in the militancy infested remote area of the state and exhorted the gathering to uphold the democratic values and the Constitution of the country and contribute equally in the country’s progress .He appealed the masses to refrain from helping the terrorists and cooperate with the Army, who has been fighting terrorism in the state for the last 15 years, to bring peace and normalcy in the region. The school children, on this occasion, presented a variety program depicting the rich and composite culture of the State. The main attraction of the function were school children dressed in tri colour, with some of them clad in tri-service uniform, holding small tri-colour flags, depicting true patriotic fervour among the younger generation, the future hope of the nation. As a moral booster, the GOC awarded special prizes among the participating students and distributed sweets among them. Principal of the Academy Veena Bhat also addressed the gathering and lauded the sincere efforts of security forces in ensuring peace and tranquility in the region and praised the Army for promoting the Palma school from a non-descript status to a ‘Model’ school.
