Leaking of Interlocutors' Report politically motivated…..?

Jammu, Apr 14: A world of confusion has been created on the states' political scene after what is being termed as politically motivated -the 'filtered' contents of Interlocutors report having been leaked to media .
What is most important in the whole scenario is the timing of leaking political contents of the report which happened a day after Union Home Minister P Chidambaram's visit to Jammu during which he significantly made a mention of the report and maintained it would be made public after CCS gave its view point. The moot point is whether the leaking of report is deliberate to gauge the public mood and political response much before it becomes official document and if so, it has only done much harm than any good in terms of the utter confusion that prevails over it.
Notwithstanding media taking pride in making exclusive stories over the contents of the Interlocutors' report , more than any normal reaction or response, it has evoked criticism from some political quarters for more than one reason. While media reports suggest that Interlocutors have rejected both Autonomy and Self Rule as two political solutions for addressing certain dimensions of Kashmir issue, ruling NC, no matter at what level has come out with a sort of denial, asserting there is no such recommendation that totally negates
Autonomy in the Report. This is apparent, given the fact NC leadership during the continuous course of meetings and discussions with the Interlocutors has been insisting and focusing on this aspect , it being the political slogan of the party.
While all other parties and some MLAs in opposition are ruing leaking of the report much before it is made public officially, the Interlocutors themselves during the past two days have been coming out with even more contradicting statements which have further added to the confusion. The contention is that while partly what has come out is correct, all that has been carried by media and picked up as follow up stories is not wholly true. One wonders, what does that mean? What however, remains most vital aspect is the fact that it was none other than the Home Minister of the country who announced that the Interlocutors' report is at present with Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), probably highest Forum in the government which is studying and will make its comments soon after which the Report would be made public.
The only inference common masses can draw from what is being seen as no less- than a 'tamasha' , is that the leaking of report to media before it is made officially public has done two damages: one that it has only undermined the statement of Union Home Minister and second that it has created confusion to the extent that by the time Report is actually made public by the Government, there would be no serious takers . In other words the way report has come in pieces and fragments has only affected the credibility of the Interlocutors besides making the report itself less credible.
