Sham Lal administers polio drops in Dal Lake, Babademb slum areas | | | early times report Srinagar, Apr 15: Like other parts of the Country, lakhs of children below 5 years age group were administered Pulse Polio drops in the valley of Kashmir on Sunday. Under the second phase of Pulse Polio immunization progra-mme, the Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Sham Lal today visited Kand Mohalla situated in Dal Lake, Batmaloo and Pampore SDH hospital and administered polio drops to the children. The Minister also visited Babademb slum area along with Chairperson of State Women's Commission and MLA Habba Kadal constituency, Mtr. Shamim Firdous and administered the plus polio drops to many children below the age group of five years. On the occasion, the Minister said that under the second phase of Pulse Polio Immunization progra-mme, more than 9 lakh children below the age group of five years will be covered and for carrying successfully this prog-ramme in Kashmir Division. He said 5701 vaccination booths have been installed while 22796 team members have been entrusted this work. Besides, 302 Mobile teams were engaged for conducting satisfactorily this prog-ramme. Meanwhile, the Health Minister during his visit to SDH, Pampore also inspected some wards and interacted with patients. Sham enquired about the medical facilities are being provided to them by the medical authorities. The immunization prog-ramme was also successfully carried out in all the districts, including Pul-wama, Anantnag, Kul-gam, Shopian, Ganderbal, Bud-gam, Kupwara, and Bandipora, Leh and Kargil where respected Deputy Commissioners and Chief Medical Offices administered the pulse polio drops to the children. |
