MLA Domana demands powers for panchayats

jAmmu, Apr 15: MLA Raipur-Domana Constituency Bharat Bhushan addressed a rally here today at Domana wherein a large number of his supporters, sarpanches and workers participated. While addressing the gathering, Bharat Bhushan said, "Its unfortunate that inspite of 80-90 percent polling here in Jammu, Govt failed to give powers to the Panchayats". "It was the first time in Jammu, a large percentage of polling was witnessed in the Panchayats polls, but I am failed to understand that why Govt reluctant to give powers to Panchayats as it is imperative to take democracy at gross root level", he added, demanding powers for Panc-hayats. Expressing fullest solidarity with the PoK, West Pakistani refugees, Bharat Bhu-shan said, "They are struggling for the just and genuine from last many decades but none of the successive Govt in the state and Centre have ever adopt sympathetic look on them and they forced to live with adversities and that too without any rights". He demanded their comprehensive settlement and citizenship rights to PoK and Western Pakistan Refugees. He quoted that in American those who lived their for more than six could get citizenship rights but its pity that in India some still denied the same. He also demanded immediate disbanding of Custodian Department and ownship right to EP tenants, local allotees. Highlighting the issues of Degree College Paloura, the MLA resented the shifting of GDC Paloura and said that the land has been identified for GDC Paloura at Assaswan Mish-riwala but still Govt not clearing the project of constructing college at Paloura.
