Bhamag extends warm welcome to MLC Jugal Kishore | | | Early Times Report BHAMAG (REASI), Apr 15: A warm welcome was accorded to newly elected Member Legislative Council (MLC) Jugal Kishore Sharma by a large gathering at Gori Mitti near Ladda in Bhamag region, a remote and mountainous area in Reasi district. Amid drum beats and slogans in praise of MLC Jugal Kishore, a large number of people from Ladda Panchayat, who had arranged the reception at picturesque locales of Gori Mitti, welcomed their leader with overwhelming zeal and zest. Besides the people of Ladda Panchayat, more than thousand villagers, sarpanchs and panchs from more than 10 panchayats participated in the welcome event. The crowd's enthusiasm and delight on the arrival of Jugal Kishore was presenting a picture as if they have found a lost jewel. From the entrance point to the venue of public meeting, Jugal was carried in the shape of a big procession. On the occasion, teen age girls and children presented folk songs and dance. A group of girls sang a special song in commending the development works started in Bhamag area by Jugal Kishore during his stint as MLA Reasi constituency. In his address, Sarpanch Kalsote, Hoshiar Singh said that the people of not only Bhamag, but also those of the state whole had been unlucky not to have Jugal Kishore's services as public representative. While addressing the gathering, Naib Sarpanch Ladda, Dina Nath expressed his gratitude to Sonia Gandhi, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) for the elevation of Jugal Kishore Sharma in the upper house as MLC. Speaking on the occasion, Sarpanch Mongri, Kailash Devi said that the overwhelming participation of the people of this area in having a glimpse of their beloved leader revealed the high hopes attached to him on being elected as MLC. Addressing the gathering, Jugal Kishore said that people should be aware of their rights so that they could be able to overcome lack of development, poverty and illiteracy. He called upon the people to always exercise their right to franchise in a judicious manner so as to avoid a wrong choice, which could hamper the developmental process. Citing example of the slow progress made in last three years with regard to various projects in Reasi constituency in general and Bhamag area in particular, Jugal said the development works kick started by him are either stalled or delayed due to lack of concern shown by the elected representative. Jugal said that service to the public is his main motto. He said that he will leave no stone unturned for the development and prosperity of Bhamag area. Others who spoke on the occasion include Sarpanch Mali Dina Nath, Gandharab Singh, Munshi Ram and Ramesh Singh. |
