| Inter-department sports meet of JU | | SHTM wins men's badminton title | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 16: School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM) clinched the men's badminton title in the ongoing inter-department sports meet of University of Jammu at Gymnasium Hall on the campus, here today.
In the final, played today, the SHTM defeated Department of Law 2-0. In first singles, Amit Kumar beat Lokesh Kumar in straight easy sets of 21-08, 21-06 while Rakesh Kumar outplayed Himanshu Sharma 21-15, 21-16 in other singles game.
Volleyball final today
JAMMU: Meanwhile, in the inter-department men's volleyball tournament, Department of Physical Education shall take on Law School in the final tomorrow at 10.30 am.
Earlier, in the semifinals, played today, Department of Physical Education defeated Department of Law in straight sets 25-13, 25-14. Rakesh Singh Rahi, Irshad Naik and Sahil Jamwal were main contributors to Physical Education score. Lokesh Sharma and Abdul Waheed fought well from Law Department.
Later, in other semifinal, Law School trounced Department of Urdu again in straight sets 25-19,25-15 to reach the final. Nawdeep Singh and Suraj Singh played well for winners Law School while Rizwan Mirza and Irshad were main contributors to Urdu Department score. |
