Various employees organizations calls to observe 'tool down strike' on April 17

Jammu Apr 16: Various employees organizations continuing pressure upon the state government for their long pending demands have decided to go on one day long 'Pen/Tool Down strike' on April 17 and have urged the employees to participate in large number to make it a success.
In a day long session of EJAC (K) held at Jammu under the Chairmanship of S Kulwant Singh State Vice President EJAC (K) trade unionists took strong exception to the anti employees and anti workers attitude of State Govt by adopting delaying tactics to side tracks the issue by backing out from its agreement made with JCC Leaders on 15th September 2011 and compelling the employees to go on strike.
The EJAC (K) leaders said the Government has done nothing and daily rated workers who are working since long. "The Govt has constituted two committee for enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60 years and removal of anomalies in different caders but have done nothing with in the time period,' they lamented further adding that Public Sector Undertaking (PSUs) employees are being deprived off sixth pay commission arrears and DA.
The EJAC (K) leaders felt that Govt has betrayed with the employees by not implementing its agreement in letter and spirit regarding the pending remaining demands of employees and workers through out the State to observe "Kaam Chodo Hartal" on April 17 and rallies, demonstration in respective Tehsil and District Head Quarter will be held to express unity and solidarity.
Among those who addressed the conference, Shahid Hussain, Chaman Lal, Rohit George, Vijay Sharma, Ranjeet Singh, Vidya Bharti and others.
Meanwhile in another joint meeting of leadership of Govt Employees Joint Action Committee (GEJAC) of both the Provinces was held here today at Jammu to discuss the attitude of the Govt towards the demands of t he employees of the State including the PSU employees.
Senior leaders GEJAC, namely Sushil Sudan, Aijaz Khan , Suresh Sharma, Subh ash Verma, Gh. Hassan Malik , Bashir Mir, Suman Sharma, Sheikh Zaffar Ullah, Ravi Kumar and others were present in the press conference.
Speaking on the occasion speakers expressed their amazement over the silence maintained by the Government over the burning demands of the employees.
"It seems that the Government under a well planned conspiracy has all along been sabotaging the interests of the 4.5 lakh employees, they said. The GEJAC leadership stated that a protest will be organized as 'Symbolic Hunger Strike' April 17.
