State will achieve new heights of development, Khushali: Peerzada

Anantnag, January 26
On the eve of 58th Republic Day, Minister for Education, Haj and Auqaf Peerzada Mohammed Sayeed unfurled the tricolor at Degree College for Boys Anantnag at an impressive function. He also took salute of the parade in which contingents of JKP, CRPF, Fire and Emergency Services, Auxiliary police, IRP, Homegaurds, NCC Cadets and school children took part.
Speaking on the occasion, the Education Minister said that democracy, socialism and secularism had gained deep roots in the country and much progress has been registered in various sectors adding that India is regarded as a major world power. He said people had thwarted attempts by communal forces to disturb amity and brotherhood.
Referring to the efforts made by coalition government to restore peace and raise infrastructure, Peerzada said that during last four years a network of educational institutions has been established across the state while medicare facilities have been improved. Efforts are also on to further strengthen drinking water and electricity facilities. He said several steps were taken to improve educational standards and about 30,000 teachers were recruited.
About some innovative and path breaking decisions taken by the government led by Chief Minister Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad during last about one and a half year, the Minister said 8 new districts, 13 tehsil and 4 sub-divisions have been announced in the state while with the implementation of Roshini Act people will have rights over the land being used by them after fulfilling requisite formalities. He expressed hope that under the dynamic leadership of Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad the state will achieve new heights of development and Khushali.
On this occasion, a colorful cultural programme was presented by Information Department and School children.
Later, the Minister awarded prizes to persons showing good performance.
Similar functions were also held at Bijebehara, Dooru Pahalgam, and Kulgam where respective Tehsildars and SDM unfurled the tricolor and took salute at the parade
