JSM expresses dissatisfaction over Interlocutors' report | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 16: Terming Interlocutors Report as Kashmir centric, the Jammu State Morcha (JSM) today expressed its dissatisfaction over it and alleged that the team headed by Dileep Padgonkar ignored the aspirations and the issues concerning the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions. In a meeting of JSM held under the chairmanship of its president Prof Virender Gupta, the members said that though the report asks for setting regional councils, one each for Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh invested with powers to address the political, economic, social and cultural interests, grievances and aspirations of the people in all the three regions, the report has given favourable considerations to the demand of Greater Autonomy of NC and Self Rule of PDP. The recommendations if accepted and implemented shall make Jammu and Kashmir State as a republic within Indian republic, that is what NC and PDP want. Ultimately the state shall be driven away from the Indian Union, they added. The report has recommended case by case review of centre laws and Articles of the constitution of India after July 1952 Agreement (so called) by setting a Constitutional Committee whose recommendations are to be ratified by the Parliament and State Legislature. So for the report that is published in news papers is silent about the issues concerning the POK and West Pakistan refugees and fate of Kashmiri Pandits, the JSM members said. |
