PDP demands enhancement in migrants' cash relief | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 16: In a series of meetings organized by Migrant Cell PDP at Jagti Township, TRT Nagrota and Kunjwani several problems of the displaced Kashmiri Pandits were discussed in detail.In the meetings it was demanded that Cash Relief should be increased to Rs 15000 per month as the prices of essential commodities have increased manifold. For more than two decades Kashmiri Pandits continue to languish in Camps and were forced to live in doles of Rs 41.66 per soul per day, the party activists said. They said that the Prime Minister was kind enough to sanction Rehabilitation Plan but unfortunately the State Government did not implement the same till today even though the Central Government has to bear the whole cost, with the result this rehabilitation plan for Kashmiri Pandits continued to remain on papers only. It was requested in the meeting that the Government should take immediate steps to implement this Rehabilitation Plan for the displaced Kashmiri Pandits. The meetings were addressed by Ramesh Koul, Ashok Bhat, Ashok Sidha, Dr. R K Pardesi, Shadi Lal Tiku, Sunil Bhat, S K Raina, Nanaji Watal, Anju Bhan, H N Kachroo, A K Sharma, ChandJi Khar, Moti Lal, Hira Lal and others. |
