NC for unity, PDP-BJP for division of state: Rana
Regional parties should refrain playing regional card and communal card

Jammu, Apr 16: Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Devender Singh Rana said that PDP and BJP are working in tandem with each other to divide the state on regional and communal lines for their petty political gains without bothering for the consequences and ramifications such divisive politics is likely to have on the unity and integrity of the state. Rana who was addressing series of public meetings at Panchayat Kanna Chadgal Lower, Kanna Chadgal Upper, Dansal and Nadore in Nagrota assembly constituency here today said that peaceful and stable Jammu and Kashmir is required for the welfare of the people of the state and its development and economic resurgence and if that process is somehow derailed at this stage it will not be good for the state, country and the sub-continent.
He said National Conference is committed to preserve the unity and integrity of the state and is ready to make all sacrifices to uphold the state's pluralistic culture and ethos. He said those regional parties who are playing regional card and the communal card should refrain from their nefarious designs because such machinations are likely to disturb the peace in the state which has been restored with great effort of the coalition government led by Omar Abdullah and its is the duty of all of us to strengthen the peace gains for a better and vibrant Jammu and Kashmir.
Rana said peace has been restored because of the visionary leadership of Omar Abdullah and the coalition government under his leadership has taken historical decisions to restore the confidence of the people in governance and institutions of governance. He said notable steps taken by the government are promulgation of Public Service Guarantee Act, setting up of effective RTI Commission, revival of the State Accountability Commission, holding of the panchayat elections after three decades, setting up of new degree colleges, polytechnics and ITIs, launching of SKWEPY for the unemployed youth besides accelerated pace of development.
Rattan Lal Gupta Provincial President J&K National Conference, Jammu province urged the state government to provide special package for development of Kandi areas of the state. Others who addressed in the meetings included Haji Mohammad Hussain,ex-MLC, Rameshwar Dutt, Kirpal Singh, Din Mohammad, Ch. Rehmat Ali, Joginder Lal and others.
