Financial discipline needed for good governance: Guv | | | early times report Jammu, Apr 16 : Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra today called for financial discipline in the functioning of the administrative apparatus to achieve the objectives of good governance in the state. Vohra, who met state principal accountant general Venkatesh Mohan at the Raj Bhavan here, made this statement while referring to the crucial role of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) at the Centre and the principal accountants general in the states. During the meeting, the principal accountant general briefed the Governor about the Audit Report for 2010-11 for Jammu and Kashmir. In its recent report, the CAG had highlighted misappropriation, loss of funds, failure to achieve targets in central schemes and indicted several departments including power, education and finance department for mismanagement, failure to meet targets, diversion of funds and laxity in tax system |
