PDP cemented relations between different regions, sub-regions of State: Mufti
Over 200 political workers from Hiranagar join PDP

JAMMU, Apr 16: Reiter-ating resolve of his party to address aspirations of all sections of the society, patron of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Moham-mad Sayeed today said that PDP has cemented relations betw-een different regions and sub-regions of the state. Addre-ssing a function to welcome over two hundred prominent political workers from Hiranagar, who joined PDP today, Mufti said that since its formation PDP has been pursuing the agenda of unity to bridge the gap between different regions of the state. "The PDP, through its policies, has succeeded in streng-thening relations among different regions and sub-regions of the State", he said and informed the gathering that PDP led regime has carved out a path of equitable development in the state. PDP patron reiterated that attaining power was not the only agenda of PDP. "We want to change the present system and to establish a new system where every sections of the society would get justice and equal opportunities for growth and development", he asserted and sought cooperation of the people to fulfill this progressive and pro-people agenda of PDP. Taking a dig at National Conference for adopting deceit tactics to remain in power, he said that National Conference has never allowed democracy to grow in the State. "Before formation of PDP, there was one party domination in the state because the National Confer-ence has never allowed any opposition to function", he recalled and said that PDP has not only challenged domination of National Confer-ence but also provided an alternative to the people of the State.He said that biggest achievement of PDP was restoring peoples' faith in the democracy and democratic institutions. "With its tireless efforts the PDP had restored peoples' faith in the democracy", he said and recalled that 2002 assembly elections was turning point in the history of State that helped in reviving peoples' faith in the democracy.
