Cocoon producers stage protest against Central Silk Board | | | Early Times Report KATHUA , Apr 17: The Cocoon producers have protested and raised slogans against the Central Silk Board of India, Research Extension Centre Barnoti, and Kathua for not providing the rational and justified actual rates of the cocoon. The resented cocoon producer alleged the Silk department for inviting a single cocoon trader/purchaser who imposed its own rates from Rs 120 to 140 per kg which is very less than the rates of previous year when the producers gladly used to sale their cocoon at rate from Rs 250 to 280 per kg. The cocoon producers Smt Seema Devi, Charan Dass and Shiv Kumar while protesting told that the department and cocoon trader both have strong nexus due to which only single trader is invited in this marketing where the auction is conducted, because they know better if only one trader would be available then every cocoon producers has to sale their produce as per the desire choice of trader's rate which has exposed as blunder with we innocent cocoon producer. They also alleged the department for not providing the required and necessary technical assistance to cocoon producers due which the silk worm gets killed untimely and caused huge loss to the producers. |
