| Hizbul commander killed, civilian abducted | | | SRINAGAR, JAN 26 A top commander of pro-Pakistan Hizbul Mujahideen was killed while a civilian was abducted in Jammu and Kashmir where security forces busted two militant hideouts and recovered three kgs RDX besides arms and ammunition since last evening. The self-styled commander of Hizbul Mujahideen Mohammad Sharief Khan alias Aurangzeb was shot dead by security forces in an encounter at Kachwan jungle in Anantnag district today, a police spokesman said. The militant was active for the past 15 years in South Kashmir. One AK rifle, three magazines and a pouch were recovered from the possession of the slain militant, he said. Militants kidnapped one Shabir Ahmad Wani from his house at Hanjivera-Pattan in Baramulla in the wee hours. Police have launched a hunt to nab the abductors. Security forces recovered three 12 bore guns, ten rounds and three hand grenades from the house of one Mohammad Shaban at Burgrane Saroor of Doda district yesterday, the spokesman said. Security forces also recovered one AK rifle, two magazines, 60 rounds, two pistols, two magazines, 20 rounds, ten hand grenades and three kgs RDX at Chankas post near Line of Control in Baramulla district.
