J&K Cultural troupe excels in Lucknow Festival | | | Early Times Report
Jammu , Apr 17: The Cultural troupe of Jammu and Kamir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages participated in Lucknow Festival and brought laurels to the state . The cultural programme performed by the State cultural troupe enthralled the audiences of Lucknow with the variety of folk songs and dance forms. The state artists performed special programme on the occasion and owcased the rich culture of the three regions of the State by presenting various traditional folk dances of Jammu, Kamir and Ladakh. The colourful programme began with " Kashmiri Rouf dance" presented by the female artists of the State. After that unique nomadic dance of Changthang Valley of Ladakh was performed by Ladakhi dance group. Gh. Mohd. Ahangar and party of Kashmir performed Kashmiri Bachnagma a traditional folk form of singing accompanied by the musical instruments like Rabab, Sarangi, Tumaknari and Gadda. The voice of famous Kashmiri traditional singer Abdul Rashid Sheikh and his dance Stole the hearts of thousands of music lovers of Lucknow. The other dances like famous "Dogri dance - Suni di pakhi", Bumbroo- Bumbroo Kashmiri dance and "Zangskari famous traditional song Aaliyaatoo leyy" mesmerized the large number of audiences present on the occasion. The J&K Cultural Acade my's troupe was led by Nazir Hussain Deputy Secretary/ SOCA G1. The programme was conducted by staff artist, Anil Tickoo. |
