| Chess, carom events start at BGSBU | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Apr 17: Annual inter-department competitions in event events of chess and carom, involving students of both undergraduate and postgraduate departments, started today at recreation hall of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), here.
Around 200 male and female students are taking part in both the events being organised by Department of Sports and Physical Education of the University.
Meanwhile, Azhar Mughal (CE), Nasir Sofi (ERE), Atif (ITE) and Junaid Khan (CE) today qualified for semifinals of carrom while Wasim Mughal, Ryan Farooq, Randeep Singh, Shayal Khajuria, Taseer Mohd, Mohd Aqib, Asif Jellani and Hanan entered the next round of chess.
Similarly in women's category, Osheen (IT), Samia (IT), Priya (IT) and Sakshi (ECE) made it to next round of carrom while Shivia Manhas, Bisma, Shweta and Shaheena Ashrif reached the semifinals in chess. |
