| Army victim of concocted, fabricated contents of 'book' | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 17: Indian Army, the most professional Army in the world, has changed the socio-politico and economic landscape of the State with its multifarious role. It's because of the growing acceptance of the Army, as the guardian of the people, especially in Kashmir, concocted, fabricated pieces of matter are planted and books are being written to malign its image with a definite agenda. The Army in its initial role, helped in bringing semblance of bringing law and order in the early '90s by eliminating and countering terrorism. This task was beyond the means and control of the State police, which had at one time even staged a mini mutiny in Kashmir. With growing intelligence, the Army was able to fight terrorism was neutralized, and it was because of it that democratic forces started taking roots and State police reshape itself. But some forces, which had pocketed either votes or notes had always been trying to demonise it by playing one arbitrary incident out of proportion and these forces are continuing to do so, but are fast loosing credence in this account for varied reasons. The Army has not hesitated in taking action against its own personnel if some wrongs have been committed and it has earned a respect for it in the Valley. A number of times allegations have been found in-correct but forces with vested interests did so its own advantage but in doing have harmed the interest of ordinary Kashmiri. It's the Army which has come to rescue to people when suffered due to earthquake and in 2005 snow Tsunami which left 63 people dead and property worth crores was damaged. It was only Army which could do assistance of ordinary people in the State when all other state agencies had failed and for it earned huge respect and command from the people. In peace time, it's the Army which is holding public meetings even in remote corners of the Kashmir where even politicians deem fit not to go. More importantly such public durbars are being attended not less than GoC 15 Corps Lt Gen Hasnain, reflecting the seriousness of the Army on this issue. Not only that it's providing education and medical facilties but even helping students of the remote corners in broadening their visions by organising Bharat Darshan programme under the programme Operation Sabhavana. The role of Army in engaging in civic programmes has been even appreciated by opposition parties and had accused the state government of abdicating its responsibility. It's because of these reasons that such books which are not less than figment of imagination, are planted to give fresh lease of life of separatists forces, which had become redundant, and for it help is coming from some foreign hands also. |
