Court frames corruption charges against Section Officer

Jammu, Apr 18: Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu today framed corruption charges against Nasir Khan the then Section Officer Planning Section DC Officer Jammu u/s 5(1) (e) r/w section 5 (2) Prevention of Corruption Act and 120-B RPC in much publicized disproportionate assets case. Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Pawan Dev Kotwal framed corruption charges against Nasir Khan s/o Abdul Majid Khan then Section Officer Planning Section DC Officer Jammu u/s 5(1) (e) r/w section 5 (2) Prevenction Of Corruption Act Svt 2006, 12/14, 13/15 Public Men and Public Servants (Declaration of Assets and Other Provisions) Act, 1983 r/w 168 and 120-B RPC in much publicized disproportionate assets case. While framing the charges Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Pawan Dev Kotwal after hearing CPO Parshtom Sharma for the VOJ, observed that Nasir Khan having been posted as Junior Assistant in the Revenue Dept and Head Asstt and Section Officer In the office of Chief Planning Officer DC Jammu from October 1974 to February 26, 2007, he acquired assets in his name and in the name of his family members valuing Rs 98, 77, 446/- disproportionate to his known source of income in the shape of two residential houses at Bathindi and Gandhi Nagar Jammu, Cash, Jewellery and other items and thus framed corruption charges against him. Brief facts of the case are that information was received by the Vigilance Organization revealing the suspect Nasir Khan has acquired movable and immovable assets in the shape of palatial house at Bhatindi and two luxury cars etc.
Verification conducted by the SVO has revealed that he has acquired a newly constructed double storey palatial house at Bhatindi worth more than Rs.40 lakhs and two luxury cars bearing No. JK02S/2022 (Palio car) and JK02M-1788 (Matiz car) worth over Rs.8 lakhs and gold ornaments weighing more than a kilogram besides, bank accounts, cash certificates, fixed deposits and other incriminating material was recovered from the house search of the accused official.
