| Inter-department sports meet of BGSBU | | Tahiba, Hanan excel in chess | | early times report
RAJOURI, Apr 19: Tahiba Bazaz of B.Tech (IT) and Mohd Hanan of B.Tech (CSE-11) bagged women and men's chess titles respectively in the three-day inter-department sports meet, org-anised by Department of Sports and Physical Education of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BG-SBU), here today.
In the women's final, Tahiba Bazaz defeated Shivya Manhas of B.Tech (Civil) to claim the winners' trophy. Similarly, in men title clash, Mohammad Hanan of B.Tech (CSE-11) out-played Sahil Khajuria of B.Tech (CSE-09) in a nerve ending game.
In Carom, Osheen Kundal of B.Tech (IT 4th Semester) defeated Sha-kshi Sharma of B.Tech (Civil 4th Semester) to claim the title. The men's carom title went to Junaid Ashraf B.Tech (Civil), who beat Asif Jeelani of B.Tech (ECE-09) in the final.
In all, 110 boys and 70 girls took part in these events held on knock-out basis. |
