| Poonch Thunderbolts, Jammu Royals win in JPL | | | early times report
JAMMU, Apr 19: In the ongoing Jammu Premier League (Tawi Cup) of district Poonch, Jammu Royals and Poonch Thunderbolts won their respective matches in group `C' played at Degree College ground today. In the first match of the day, Poonch Thunderbolts defeated Rajouri Miracles by 21 runs. Batting first, after winning the toss, Poonch Thunderbolts set a target of 102 runs for the loss of nine wickets in given 20 overs.
Wasim Raja remained highest run getter with 30 runs in his account. Sumit Khajuria was most successful bowler from Rajouri Miracles with three wickets for 12 in four overs he bowled.Later, Rajouri Mir-acles could not chase the total and the whole side bowled out for 80 runs. Wasim Raja was declared man of the match for his all-round performance. Meanwhile, in another match Jammu Royals inflicted a humiliating defeat on Rajouri Rajas beating latter by 132 runs. Earlier, Jammu Royals after winning the toss and deciding to bat first made 167 runs at the loss of seven wickets. Pratap Singh was top scorer with 47-ball 54 runs. In reply, Rajouri Rajas could not chase the big target and bowled out cheaply for 35 runs. Partap Singh was declared man of the match for his excellent batting. A big crowd of local cricket lovers turned up to witness today's matches at the college ground. Superintendent of ITI Poonch, Sagar Sharma gave away the man of the match awards. |
