| PDP protests against hike of 'power tariff' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 19: Jammu & Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (PDP) held a protest against Power Development Department (PDD) and State Govt., for 'steep hike' in power tariff and unscheduled power curtailments.
The protestors led by Vikram Singh, Pankaj Gupta and party leaders of PDP, said it is total discrimination with common people and failure of state government in all aspects. Addressing the p rotestants Vikram Singh Distt Vice President Jammu staged dharna in the middle of the road and demanded roll back the increased power tariff.Girish Sharma raised the issue of BPL community saying ratio BPL is increasing day by day and there is no policy to redress theirgrievances and the increased power tariff will further compound their problems.
Pankaj Gupta, Sachin Sharma, Sonu Saini, Lovely Jamwal, Arun Manhas, Gokul Sharma, Sourabh Mehra, Rahul Gandotra and others also spoke on the occasion. |
