Rs. 83 lakh earmarked for NRHM in Bla

Under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), about Rs. 22 lakh have been utilized on the implementation of various schemes of the programme upto ending December last in Baramulla district. An amount of Rs. 83 lakh has been earmarked for the purpose.
This was stated at a meeting of officers held here today with Chief Planning Officer, Baramulla Mr. Abdul Gani Malik in chair.
The meeting was informed that 1075 Ashas have been engaged so far in the district for successful implementation of the mission. Of these, 386 Ashas have been imparted necessary training with regard to providing medical advice to the expectant and lactating mothers. It was given out that 580 expectant women have been covered under this programme so far in the district.
Chief Medical Officer, Baramulla was also present in the meeting.
