11 years later, driver sentenced for killing student

Jammu, Apr 20 : Munsiff Magistrate Jammu, Anjum Ara today awarded two years imprisonment and fine of Rs 1000/- to Mohd Amin s/o Ghulam Mustafa r/o Bahu-Fort driver of Matador who on June 15, 2000 while driving matador rashly and negligently two sisters namely Pooja and Aarti got seriously injured whereas Pooja died on spot and Aarti was referred to Medical College Jammu. A case was registered u/s 279/337/304-A RPC and started investigation and after completion of investigation challan was presented.
In the 20 pages judgment Munsiff Magistrate Anjum Ara after hearing Prosecuting Officer Yogesh Nagpal appearing for the state whereas advocate, BB Kotwal for the accused observed that the evidence on record is sufficient to conclude the prosecution has been able to prove its case against the accused person and also all the witnesses examined have fully supported the proved the case of the prosecution and awarded two years imprisonment and fine Rs 1000/-.
