| Migrant employees have lost faith in Apex Committee: Raina | | | ET Report JAMMU, Apr 20: Migrant employees in general and displaced employees of Education Department in particular have lambasted the Apex Committee members for their failure in raising the issue of displaced employees during the recently held Apex Committee meeting chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah here. Though the displaced employees had pleaded before the Apex Committee members to raise various issues confronted the migrant employees in the meeting to draw the Government's attention to wards the same but they failed to take up the issue during the meeting, said Ramesh Raina president of Migrant Teachers Welfare Association (MTWA). He said the members of Apex Committee whom they met had promised that their problems especially the issue of HRA and CCA will be discussed in the meeting but later they did not took up the issue with Chief Minister. This way the community especially the displaced employees have lost their faith in the Apex Committee, he said. He said the displaced employees of various departments have been denied the HRA CCA benefits by the Government and despite the orders of Apex Court the Government did not release the same in favour of the migrant employees by adopting a rigid attitude. He said the role of Apex Committee members has also been dismal in this regard as they failed to raise the genuine issues of employees in the meeting knowing fully their problems and sufferings. He said the migrant employees have lost their faith in the Apex Committee. Raina in an appeal to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah urged him to implement the Apex Court decision regarding the implementation of HRA CCA to migrant employees without further delay. Meanwhile the Migrant Employees of Education Department have also criticized the authorities for posting the displaced teachers in far off areas like Leh and Kargil on their promotions. The Association chief Bharat Bushan has criticized the attitude of the authorities in this regard and urged them that migrant teachers be posted in camp schools where there is shortage of subject teachers for higher classes so that the students studies don't suffer. |
