| Qarra takes stock of Ashoor arrangements in Sgr | | | Srinagar | January 27 Minister for Finance and Planning Mr. Tariq Hameed Qarra today extensively toured dozens of Shia dominated localities in Srinagar city to personally take stock of arrangements made by the administration for observance of Ashoor. The areas visited include Zadibal, Hassanabad, Kathidarwaza, Aliabad, Lawapora, Khushpora, Chaki Hassibhat etc. Accompanied by a team of senior officers including Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Municipal Commissioner, Chief Engineer PDD and Director Health services Kashmir, the Minister assessed the renovation work on Imambargah, Zadibal and shrine of Shamas-ud-Din Iraqi. An amount of Rs 2 crore are being spent on the renovation of these shrines by Tourism department. The Minister directed the officers to ensure hassle free availability of essentials, power and water supply and cleanliness in and around Imambargahs during the holy days. During interaction with people, the Minister said that desilting of Khushal Sar would be undertaken on priority. Mr. Qarra also visited Hassanabad and reviewed arrangements there. Later, the Minister also visited the Shia dominated areas of Batamaloo constituency including Khushipora, HMT, Gund Hassibhat etc and took stock of arrangements made by the administration for providing regular water and power supply, sanitation around Imambargahs. During the tour, a number of deputations met the Minister and apprised him of their problems related to road connectivity. Power supply and ration.
