| BJP may seek legal cover to counter 'dissidents' move' | | Cash for Vote issue | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 21: in a bid to counter the dissidents' move claiming 'we are the real BJP' the inside reports said that the loyalists in the BJP may seek guidance from the party high command following the latest missive the expelled party leaders sent to the speaker of the Assembly requesting him to disqualify four MLAs who had been violating the direction of the "leader" of the BJP in the Assembly. Party sources said that the loyalists headed by Ashok Khajuria MLA have been forced to be on the defensive after the letter having been sent by Prof Chaman Lal Gupta to the speaker calling for action against the four MLAs. Party sources also reasoned that Prof Gupta and Co has been encouraged to resort to offensive only after the speaker refused to accept the demand of the recently installed leader of the BJP in the Assembly Jugal Kishore, who had demanded that the seven MLAs who had allegedly indulged in cross voting in the Council election a year ago be disqualified. Party sources said that either a three-member team of BJP leaders will rush to Delhi for discussion with the top functionaries of the party or a couple of senior BJP leaders may be in Jammu shortly for evolving a strategy to counter the dissidents. A senior leader belonging to party said that they may approach the high court and file a petition seeking court direction to the speaker. He said that the by sending a letter, seeking action against four BJP MLAs, to the speaker the rebels including senior leader Prof Chaman Lal Gupta had sealed the last chance for a reconciliation. |
