JK Govt fails to protect religious places in valley: KPs | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 21: The Kashmir government was today accused by the All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) of failing to protect religious places in the valley despite being informed about land encroachers. "From time to time the Government was informed about such happenings but always the Government failed to take any action against land grabbers and encroachers of the religious places of Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) in the valley", General Secretary of ASKPC H L Chatta alleged in a statement here today. Alleging Government agents and miscreants were encroaching and grabbing the properties of KPs, Chatta said, recently some miscreants had destroyed the trees of a cremation ground at Lar in Ganderbal district by cutting them down and grabbed about one acre (8 kannals) of land. "We demand immediate action against the culprits and restoration of the encroached area of the cremation ground to the concerned KP committee of shumshan Bhoomi", he said. "In case of failure to do so, the KPs will be compelled to come out on the road for mass demonstration against the Government", Chatta threatened. |
