Early Times Report

JAMMU, Apr 21: Hundreds of people today staged a protest and blocked the by-pass road over a youth's accidental death in this winter capital of the state. Traffic remained disrupted for an hour when the relatives and family members of one Vicky Kumar, 24, demonstrated by keeping his body on the road in Narwal area of city outskirts.
Vicky, resident of Rajeev Nagar, this morning died on the spot after he was hit by a speedily driven truck. The truck driver fled away from the spot. Demanding arrest of the culprit, the family members of the deceased, staged protest by blocking the busiest by-Pass Road leading to Jammu-Pathankot National Highway. Meanwhile, senior police officials immediately rushed to the spot and assured immediate action following which the protestors dispersed. The body was later handed over to the family after post-mortem.
