| Drug inspector running unholy nexus with illegal chemist shops | | Sub standard drugs galore in Kishtwar | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Apr 21: In wake of the concern shown by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kishtwar Dr. Ajay Gupta regarding the free flow of abortion drugs in Kishtwar, the role of drug inspector posted in Kishtwar has come under scanner as fresh reports reveal that besides free flow of abortion drugs in Kishtwar market, availability of sub standard drugs in the town aplenty is posing threat to innocent lives CMO Kishtwar during his meeting with chemists Association of Kishtwar on implementation of PC & PNDT Act recently had expressed displeasure and concern over the falling of sex ratio in Kishtwar District which has fallen to 876/1000 in last one year.
Mr. Gupta while addressing the meeting of Chemist Association Kishtwar the previous day expressed concern over the free flow of abortion drugs in Kishtwar market and urged the Chemist Association to help in curbing the menace so that female infanticide could be checked.
Gupta also regretted that direction of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar to Drug Inspector to keep a check on sale of drugs used in any kind of abortion or could lead to drug addiction among the youths were being ignored.
Meanwhile reports reveal that the drug inspector in question has not only being skipping important meetings of the department but has been fostering an unholy nexus with certain unregistered chemist shops and the drug suppliers in the town and elsewhere in the district. While certain shops are selling sub standard substitutes of the prescribed drugs to the patients, the drug inspector who seldom visits the area, camps in a hotel room rather than visiting the chemist shops and checking their records.
In a criminal nexus with the drug inspector in question, many illegal chemist shops have thrived in the peripheral areas of the district like Marwah, Warwan, Dachhan, Chatroo and Paddar selling substandard and controlled drugs thereby endangering innocent lives. |
