Strike defers, Jammu petrol pumps to remain open | | | Jammu, Apr 21 : The All Jammu and Kashmir Petroleum Dealers have deferred their one day strike for April 23 and all the filling stations in this winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir will remain open. "Members of Federation of All India Petroleum dealers on Friday were called up by the ministry concerned and the oil companies officials and various demands of petroleum dealers were discussed at length," Anan Sharma-president All Jammu and Kashmir Petroleum Dealers Association here today said. Mr Sharma said the Ministry has assured to address most of the demands including the implementations of Apurva Chandra Committee recommendations. "All the three oil companies will have to follow the guidelines and prescribed norms for setting up of any new outlet across the state," the association leader said. In view of recent meeting and discussions with the Ministry, the petroleum dealers have decided to defer the agitation for one day which was scheduled to be from April 22 midnight besides observing complete shutdown of petrol pumps on April 23. The petroleum dealers were demanding hike in commission from two to five per cent besides keeping check on randomly opening of filling stations across the state without norms. |
