| Pak version of map to J&K in CBSC book creates clamour | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 21: At the time when there is demand to reclaim the territory of Pak occupied Kashmir (PoK), in a major lapse, the books used in Sainik school across the country shows Pakistan occupied Kashmir as Pak's territory instead of showing it as being controversial lands area or Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. The book also vindicated the Pakistani stand on Gilgit-Baltistan where this area of Jammu and Kashmir has been projected as parts of Northern Frontier of Pakistan. According to the latest syllabus prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSC), New Delhi, the books meant for the students of 3rd standard in Sainik School across the country has this controversial map of Jammu and Kashmir. "This is ridiculous and needs due action against publisher besides taking back of all editions showing the similar map, said Sandeep Thakur. He observed that this is what was claimed by the Pakistani Government as well as the separatist in Jammu and Kashmir. It was surprising, but infact such books like the edition of CBSC Map Book meant for class 3rd in Schools covering CBSC pattern are not only transforming wrong information about but also are creating chaos in educational sector. "The map pertaining to J&K mentioned in the book is similar to the claims made by the Pakistan Government," said Vikram Singh irked over the grave blunder from publishers and added, " this happened when nationalist forces were raising voices over the leasing of the a part of Gilgit and Baltistan that are shown as a part of Pak Kashmir. For inept in Pakistan Gilgit-Baltistan area of PoK is named as Northern Frontiers areas while POK is named as Azad Kashmir and if one looks at this book of 3rd class specially designed for Sainik schools the words like 'Azad Kashmir' and Northern areas are clearly used instead of Pak Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Gilgit-Baltistan. Ironically the grievous blunder is done after the Government Ordinance passed by the parliament in 1994 in which the Parliament of India unanimously passed a resolution in which it was agreed in principal that POK as the part of India. But it seems no one among the CBSC officials and Government is worried to maintain the said 'ordinance' as the Publisher Prabhat Publisher House, Karol Bagh New Delhi came up with a book with maps challenging not only the nationalistic forces but also voice of Indian Parliament. |
