| Police arrests six gamblers | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Apr 22 : Police claimed to have arrested six gamblers and recovered bet money from them in Parimpora area in outskirts of this summer capital on Sunday. Giving details, Dr. Shailendra Mishra, SDPO West Srinagar said that acting on specific information, police raided near Tahir Khanams College and arrested six gamblers.He identified the arrested persons as Bilal Ahmad Dar son of Habibullah Dar of Shalteng , Mohammad Afzal Sofi son of Gulam Mohammad of Sadikadal, Gulam Mohammad Dar son of Ali Mohammad of Mustafa Abad, Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh son of Gulam Qadir of Batamaloo, Syed Rasool son of Syed Yusuf of Bota kadal Lal Bazar and Farooq Ahmad Dar son of Gulam Ahmad of Satroona, Kangan. "The accused were found playing cards. Bet money, fruits, water bottles along with two vehicles of gamblers were seized from the place where raid was carried out," he said.A case FIR No124/2012 under section 13 Gambling Act has been registered in Police Station Parimpora, he added. |
