Declare all sales since 1990 null & void: APMCC | Temple Ordinance should include all temples of Valley; | | EARLY TIMES REPORT jammu, Apr 22: All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) has asked the government to declare the contents of the ordinance regarding protection of temples in Kashmir before promulgating it saying the ordinance should not be an eye wash but must include all the temples of Kashmir valley irrespective of the affiliation of the temples. Terming the recent assurance of the Chief Minister of issuing an ordinance for the protection of temples as a good step, after APMCC created tremendous pressure, the APMCC chairman Vinod Pandit said that even though government could have passed the pending bill in this session of Assembly it chose to hoodwink the Kashmiri Pandits by resorting to Ordinance. He however said that government must clarify the contents of the ordinance before promulgation to avoid any confrontation later on adding Kashmir Pandits wont accept any ordinance if it tries to please some so called trusts and other individuals by leaving them out of the purview of ordinance. In a meeting of the core group held here the members warned the government against any move of excluding some particular temples, Muths or holy springs, hillocks etc managed by some individuals or trusts and asked the government to include all temples, shrines, holy springs, hillocks etc from Jawahar Tunnel to Uri so that a uniform protection system and renovation is taken up adding the temples of Kashmiri Valley should be fully controlled by Kashmiri Pandits only as it will serve a big Confidence Building Measure (CBM) for them. The members also asked the government to declare a time frame for the issuance of ordinance and also declare each and every sale of any temple, temple land, shrines, property, agriculture or horticulture land belonging to temples and shrines since 1990 as null and void besides reclaiming the land that has been illegally grabbed by the land mafia. Terming the above demands as a pre-condition, the members said that any ordinance that does not address these issues would not be acceptable to Kashmir Pandits and any move to exclude some major temples from the purview of the ordinance would be fought tooth and nail. Prominent core group members who attended the meeting include King C Bharati, Advocate Arun Kandroo, Sandeep Bhat, Ravinder Pandita, Virender Kumar, Rajeev Dhar, Rajesh Bhat Sanjeev Kaul and Ramesh Bhat |
